Went up to my cabin in the Sangre De Cristo mountains last week. Had to snowmobile up, but was pretty nice being so isolated. Besides doing some work up there, the main goal was to do some ice fishing in the valley lakes. The first lake, where I get my crawfish from was a bust for trout and pike. The next larger lake seemed to be very productive for trout. No pike, but the trout were hitting hard on spoons and jigs tipped with wax worms. Ice was at least 15" thick at both lakes, of course it was about 1 when the sun rose!! Hope everyone stays safe and successful on the ice this year.
