Braved the weather and hit up sawhill. It sucked, too many weeds, and no fish. Tried everything i had, and still zippo. First time i've been skunked there, I was desperate so i even targeted bluegillls with fly and bubble, and then a little grub thingy. NADA. This place kinda sucks when the weeds and algae get so thick. Maybe next time, also has anyone ever fished the river/creek that runs along the north side of walden and sawhill, it looked like it could hold fish, but i obviously didn't get into any. tight lines

Well Im sorry you had a bad trip. Could have been worse. Over there right now doesnt produce much action until all them weeds/grass die. Then the fishing will start to pick up again before it gets too cold.

That river .. Well we use to catch little minnows and suckers as well as crawdad. Some of them ponds back there by walden are some of my favorite ponds..

Tried there a few weeks ago. Way to weedy to teach my son
to fish with lures. Left there went to Pella and caught a couple of nice
one on the first pond.

Hey HooknLine, I tried Mccalls 2 weekends ago and caught one 12in largie in about an hour. Then a couple days later me and my girlfriend tried mcintosh, she caught a crappie and a smallie, and i got skunked. I like Mcintosh, and its soo close to the gf  8), so i need to give it a try at least until the weeds in these small ponds recede. almost forgot, ive tried pella 2 or 3 times lately, but ever time ive gone ive been skunked so thats why no posts :'( I need to get my girl to post on here, cause shes the one whos catching all the fish lately!
