Had a half hour before work to fish. White curly-tailed grub, 3 casts, one fish.

Put up a good fight on my new Eagle Claw FeatherLight rod.

They're still alive up here.... Just been hiding out from me since 1/1/15.... Oddly enough, that one fish was ALSO a LMB.... Historically I have been a very poor LMB fisherman. Maybe this will be a new year!

Thanks PD. First day to hit 70 degrees since November. Bass were jumping all over the place. On the cast i caught him on, the jig hit the water and it immediately felt like i was snagged on a grass bed or sonething... Just the parabolic action on that rod i guess. Caught it high up over about 20' of water... I was casting right where they were jumping. Once he realized he was hooked, he went aerial on me a few times. Never rolled over, fought all the way in.

Not a big bass, but a fish out of water finally!!

Need to go to the river and try for that Coosa again as soon as I get a day off. My 32 year bass suck-fest may be over. Buddies are telling me the whites have started to run and the skipjack are below the dams.

Should be a fun time of year!!
