shadow mountain canal kokanee 10/15/2005

fished the canal in the afteroon and nailed the kokanee on my slip bobber with a pink jig and wax worm , the kokanee are spawning in the canal that runs into shadow mountain good , i saw lots of surfce action also got one on a kastmaster jigging

Good looking koke... Man those things are hard to hang on to.

yes they are very slippery, they also have very soft mouths , i had afew rip my jig right off my pole, they are strong, very strong!!!!

that is a nice koke. Would love to catch one of those.

Is there any place close to The Denver Metro area to fish for kokes?

the closet place to denver is carter, they should start running soon up there , im not positive when it will be, we really need a cold front that lasts to get um going , i know they are decent 16 to 20 inches in carter , last year i got afew but not many
