I went tried on the new Simms G4 wading boot. I like the BOA system and was excited about the new sole design. They have a lot of ankle support which is a problem. They have TOO much ankle support. It was like walking with two steel pipes on my ankles. Just walking around the store within a minute they became painful as they tops were digging into my ankle area. They are the most uncomfortable wading boot I have ever tried on. Simms needs to put the new sole design on the Rivertek. That would be a great boot!

I picked up the new G3 Guide boots this year and they are pretty comfortable. I was turned off by the height of them at first, but after taking them out on the river, I like them quite a bit. Plus they dont look like motorcycle boots, like the G4 boots do.

Then you might like the G3 Guide boots. The new RiverTread soles are pretty awesome. Nice and grippy on rocks that arent covered in moss or algae.
