Took a couple of hours and fished the South Platte above the inlet to Chatfield yesterday. Got skunked! Was using an orange then later a tan scud with a dark grey midge dropped off the scuds. Started at my favorite hole near the gage and bridge, and worked my way downstream. Nothing. Walking back, I ran into someone who was pulling them out right and left from my favorite hole. He was using a san juan worm with a red disco midge dropped off the worm. Should have switched, didn't even think of something red.

Husker, I'm amazed. You never get skunked. At for the San Juan worm, it's about the only fly I can regularly count on and I hate using them. I mean, it's just a piece of yarn for pete's sake! Now, being a Husker fan you should have known that red will always work.

You're right - I should have thought of red, don't now what got into me. And red usually works! I'll know better next time.
