12.4K, just chasing that window. They were hungry alright.

I was hiking with non-angling friends so we took our time getting up there. It was almost noon and building clouds had me very nervous so I only got 20 minutes of fishing in before calling it, but I got my fix. Taped the second one at 17".

The little dog wags its tail!

Did you get them up top? Or subsurface? Beautiful fish, I need to get up around that elevation this weekend.
Subsurface. Some people on their way out had skunked on top. Seems like the topwater bite turns on after the spawn - late Summer to Fall. That is, unless you just walk into an epic hatch. This time of year you're just going to catch more fish subsurface.
