Here's some other pike we caught. None were monsters to say the least but still very fun to catch!
Also, they were out of lake X as well.
my dinky pike, 23" I think I can't remember

Ice and a dinky one he caught on a little perch spoon. It was on 2# test and it got the spoon deep and it fought hard, yet it didn't bite off. It was a miracle.

7 or 8 pound pike caught by ice. I can't remember the weight.

Lake X is slow (so many perch and now stockers to feed on!), but with these pike, and the monsters, it is worth it IMO.

yeah it ain't too hard to figure out. The signs are there. The only reason I just don't come out and say it is the lurkers and maybe there is a pike killer or two out there. I doubt a lot of these people would have the patience and guile necessary for ice piking in colorado though. Some have it, most don't. I personally can set up 2 tipups (ice usually sets up 1 and jigs with his other line for panfish) and just sit there and relax. Maybe even read a book. Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk (sp) is what I recently read. When school starts, I can bring a book and study or whatever. Sometimes I make ice watch the tipups and I take a nap.
Also, I don't want to go out and see 100 people on the ice trying to catch pike sometime, that would be a disaster because of the lake's small size, the current pike population being low, and the current regulations. I hate crowded fishing places; I enjoy space. Am I being selfish? Kind of. At least I'm giving some info.

Not that I'm into guys, but you definitely are better looking than Ice. His demeanor in the photos is similar to his demeanor on the forums! Looks like he's gonna take a bite out of that second pike, too! Has he always been that excitable, or did that start when he caught is first big fish? Do you know? I know my heart almost stopped when I caught my first monster.

i hate crowds also, when you get a body of water that just feels right to you, don't tell everyone as they definetely will fish the crap out of it, especially the lurkers.keep it to yourself. be selfish, we don't write for the magazines so save our spots...

when ice brought up his big fish I did the iaconelli scream a few times. Usually though, I just have a big grin ear to ear and that's it. And when I got my big pike, I shouted a bit. Ice generally is only that excited when he gets a northern or a very big fish of another species. Ice used to be much better looking than I. I used to be obese. (226 pounds this time last ice season, 185 now.)

Back when I was fat. I could still catch fish though! It's always hard to look at me back then for me but I find it an inspiration to never let it happen again!

TFB,

Thanks, from me, the pics of you just have a lot of compassion, they are genuine. I can tell, you have back bone. I don't quite get what ice is tying to say or state,, it might be old age on my part, or blonde roots, but to me it seems without substance some how, a scream, acted out, is weak. A nice fish though.
