It was an old fishin' buddy II...It's toast. It worked o.k. for the first few years I had it, then it seemed to kind of lose it's fish i.d. abilities. Just used it for water temp, depth, and structure the last few years. Last time I had it at Pueblo Res., it wouldn't turn on. Brand new batteries and it kept showing a check battery signal. Got pissed off and threw it into the lake. Damn thing floated, so I had to paddle out to it and toss it on shore so I could get it into the garbage. It's in a landfill now.
Dallas, don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad unit for what it cost. I had it for probably 12 years before it puked out. I'm wondering if the newer ones are a little better. Google fish finders for float tubes and there's a pretty decent looking alternative to the fishin' buddy that works on a small 12 volt battery. Transducer is right at the bottom of the float tube instead of hanging down and snagging the weeds that get to the surface in summer.
