how is everyone hooking there 3 inch gulp minnows, ive tried a jioghead, but should i go for more of a carolina rig or what?

I mostly rig them for a carolina rig which you cant go wrong with, but I recently was shown a new way to rig them that I want to try but with the weather like it has been and kids baseball games/practices havent had the chance to get out there.
Wacky rig the minnow and stick a finishing nail stuck in its head, makes it look like the minnow is feeding.

Carolina rig for me also. If down sizing I'll go with the spinning rod and a small jig head.

I just try to make it look real it depends on the length of bait and all that but you dont want the bait to look like a J just enough so the head hits the bottom and the tail moves free like its swimming down.
