I hit a South Park res this morning. I caught four little pike and one pretty nice cutbow. They all came on a slow trolled wooly bugger from the float tube. I’d twitch the fly every once in a while and that’s when I’d get bit. Saw a few other trout caught but most were small. I fished with an indicator setup for a bit and didn’t get anything. Taking a break right now and I’ll be back at it later this afternoon.

Nice. Same thing for me a few weeks back, wooley bugger and all the hits came when I did a snag jig .

I forgot to mention how obvious it was that this fish had been caught before. The other side of its mouth was clearly scarred. Catch and release works and this fish is still alive, only with more scarring. I fished big lures for big pike the rest of the day at one of the sister reservoirs and got nothing.

Nice fish Whomp. But you don't need big lures for big pike. They love 1/4 oz kastys and 3" tubes.

This is true, two pike I caught this spring up there were all on medium size panther martins trying to go after some rainbows.
