ive been there on the fourth, great trout fishing, you do know that there are a few ponds right? the biggest "pond" is the best way to catch fish, power bait with slip wieght or worms and a float, from the dirt parking lot you walk down a path that will lead you to two small ponds nothing really there but bass if your lucky they will hit. once you get to the front end/south end of the largest pond just set up and fish,
ive seen some pretty decent sized bass on the first pond that you see, from the dirt parking lot. fish are hard to find at south platte ponds i fished blue gill on the furthest pond but is hard to fish now because of the vegatation in the water. thats about all i can say, i havent been getting the bites like i used to back in the day at south platte.
