Is there any large/smallmouths in the Platte river around or outside denver?

Depends on where... I don't think there are any in the city, lots of carp though. There are probably some right below Chatfield. Other than that, no idea where you would find them.

I have caught them in Denver city limits while fishing for carp. Both LMB and SMB. Not in big numbers.

Your best bet would be right before or below chatfield, I caught 2 smallies in the platte a couple months ago but they were only like 7 and 10 inches

Have any of you fished the Platte where it goes by all the ponds in Thornton, Henderson, Brighton? What's in there?

I have been working the Gravel pond, Fairgrounds, Elaine Valente ponds, and see the Platte running nearby. I also see some Suds in a few spots....:-\
