Went out yesterday with my wife to fish for trout. As I said in an earlier report, the second lake was recently stocked with 17-19" trout. When my wife and I got there the trout were hitting the surface everywhere. We went down to where we usually fish and started out fishing the bottom with powerbait, salmon eggs, and crawlers. After about half an hour my wife decided to switch to a float for her worm. She cast out by some activity near the shore and within 15 minutes caught a very nice 19 1/2 " trout. It had a hooked jaw, beautiful coloring, and lots of teeth. We went back this morning and found my dad there fishing. He had one about 17". He caught it on a rooster tail. Good day all in all.

About seven years ago they stock all three lake with the BIG female brooders they were finished with. They ran about 5lbs. This was right before ice over. After ice over my dad and I fished the second lake with ice jigs and mealworms and nailed the brooders. We each got five (back then the limit was 8) and they all weighed right around five lbs. They didn't fight. They took the bait and it was like pulling dead weight after that.
