Headed up to St Vrain in Longmont at about 7 am with 3 of my friends and got there at 7:30 and already there was plenty of places taken. So we headed down to the far end of Sandpiper and started fishing off a cement area with a picnic table and built in pole holders on a railing very handy. The fish started biting non stop for the entire morning on salmon eggs and worms. We got about 8 rainbow between 10-12 inches that were pretty slim so we decided to move onto one of the other lakes. So we walked way to the far end of the pelican lake where there is no car access because of dirt road construction. There was only us four and one other guy. The fishing became alot slower but the fish were considerably larger than those in sandpiper. So it took us a while to get our limit but by 1:30 we had 8 more fish most of them12in and the largest caught by CO. Fisherman which was a 16in. Came home and cooked em up and were very tasty.

I think sandpiper was recently stocked because the fish werent so big and probably explains why it was so packed but all in all a fun day of fishing with the pals.
