Hi -

I'm looking for suggestions on where to go this weekend for some good stillwater fly-fishing (from a boat or shore).

Spinney is not an option however. I'm tired of that place and it has not been good to me this spring.

Anyone tried Willow Creek Res lately?

Thanks.

Dude!  ;D You changed it, lol. I had typed in a reply for Meadow Creek Res., and now it is Willow Creek, lol! Can't help you there. Only thing about Meadow Creek Res., is access. Usually lots of snow, it has a ton of rainbow, brookies, and I have heard browns, but have never got one there. Good place to float/or pontoon. The creek below is fun!

Sorry, I did change it. I'm talking about the res near Granby. You take a left before you get to the first Granby entrance as you head up from the town of Granby.

Yeah, I last went there several years ago and got some nice Brookies and bows. The road up is sketchy until early summer though.

This Willow Creek Res....Is there camping right on the res? How large is it? Sounds like a fun trip.
Thanks
Yep, there is camping although it might be kind of tight as there is not a lot of space.

It's moderate sized I guess:

10,553 - Total capacity, in acre feet, of the reservoir

3,329 - Active capacity in acre feet

303 - Surface acres of the reservoir at capacity

7 - Number of shoreline miles at Willow Creek Reservoir

2.5 - Number of miles the reservoir is located above the confluence of the Colorado River and Willow Creek

127 - Height of the dam, in feet

1,100 - In feet, the length of the dam

124 - Maximum depth, in feet, of the reservoir

I would try Jefferson. Ice off was fairly recently and I doubt the big fish have gone deep yet.
