Had some rods stolen from me when i was fishing the Colorado near Hot Sulphur. So if any one runs across someone trying to sell them please drop me a line.

1st rod
BRAND NEW T&T Helix 9ft 5wt
Ross Reel with flo green line

2nd rod
Quarrow Drake GS00093 Slow action 9ft 5wt
Okuma Airframe reel with flo green line on it

I got more rods so thats no a big deal, but the thomas and thomas had its guides wet for the first time THAT day.
Granted i shouldn't have left the truck unlocked but i was in the hills, where the good old folk used to live, guess bastards are everywhere. The trout gods will punish the offenders if they are indeed flyanglers, but it would be nice to get my rods back, would appreciate any info you guys(and gals) may run across.

Ouch, that really sucks....i hope you somehow get them back. keep an eye open, maybe even on ebay...good luck recovering them, thats an expensive loss.

I know im at the point now i dont even leave rod tubes in my truck where people can see them...you are right, there are too many bastards out there that will take your stuff.
such a shame that things like that happen. Either someone who wanted some flyfishing rods or someone who knew their value to sell them was probably the culprit. Sorry to hear man, you'd think stuff like that would be safe.
Thats why I have the privacy tint on my jeep, its hard to see in the back of it. Ever since my car was broken into in New Mexico I try to remember to lock everything up... Unfortunately my car was locked in New Mexico when they went into it, but some people are oppurtunistic and will only target easy targets. I feel for you mang.
I parked my pickup on the street for 30 minutes in Oakland, CA (silly me, ha ha!) and returned to find the windows bashed out on the rear topper, all my fishing tackle and $400 worth of tools missing. It's not enough to just lock the car or truck. You cannot even have your stuff visible from the outside.

Check with your insurance agent, you may be covered for the loss. I was.

There had to be a police report filled out in most cases for this to be covered.
You are taking it better than I would. I never lock my truck when fishing - kind of a code, ain't it? Really, really sorry to hear that. Now what am I gonna do? Lock up for awhile I guess.

I often fantasize about walking up to my truck with people breaking into it...just as long as i am bigger than them...

you dont need to be bigger just smarted and more determined, also getting the drop on em helps

couple years back i was parked on 50 by the ark and doing some fishing just at dusk i hear a car slow down and stop so i look up but dont see any lights so i start making my way to the truck quick like as i crest the bank this beat up car was backed up to my truck with the trunk poped and 2 people were just getting out of the car (it was getting dark and hard to see) as they started to walk back to my truck i could hear there engine was still running so i loadly cleared my throat and said "howdy folks" all nice and polite they jumped and one of the stamered "have you seen the moose we heard that a moose had been seen by badger creek" as they headed back to there car door me still headed right at them laughed out and said "moose? you gota be kidding me" and yelled " get the H... out of here" and they just ducked into there car and drove off with no lights and it didnt even look like there was a plate on the car when i called the cops from homethey said there had been several reports along that strech of thefts all i could tell em was it was a 70's ish 2 door makes me think twice about what i leave in my truck. i should just leave my 2 big dogs that would work

hope you get your rods back!

Another thing your deductible needs to be lower then what was stolen or it isnt worth claiming.

Yes yes, very good points i always consider...but being bigger (or mean and better armed, depending where you are at) helps ;)
yes 3 arms are better than 2 especialy if 1 is loaded!
If you have home owners insurance it will cover items stolen from your car.

You've got to be a sad sack of Sh!t to steal someones fishing gear ...If someone trys to sell me those rods I'll put an ass whoopin on them they'll never forget ...sorry for your loss and frustrations at least karma is on your side ....better head down below the taylor your due for a 20lb rainbow
that is a big reason I will not buy fishing gear at a pwan shop...to much stolen stuff!
i wont buy anything at a pawn shop if it aint stollen its gotta be worthless for someone to giveit up so cheep. i once thought of pawning a pistole that was selling used for around 300 the pawn shop offered me 30 bucks and i had the original recipt with my name on it! the only way id have taken that little was if it was stollen or a piece of junk
Hmmmmm.........Pitbull protection for the vehicle?? I hate hearing about fishing gear being ripped off! That's low!!!

Thanks for all the support guys, i have gotten over it.
Went and bought a new T&T yesterday, much to my girlfriends dismay, and went and got a few new ross's at sportsmans warehouse too. Again, woman said spending 900 in one day on flyfishing was too much.
Thanks again fellas
