I want to take my brother in law and my dad ice fishing this week. Since it will be their first time I'm looking for a place where we can get some fairly decent numbers with a chance at a big one.
The only requirement is that the ice is thick! I want them to have a good experience. What you you guys think, Stagecoach, Red Feathers? Lake John doesn't seem to be a hot as in prevoius years. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Dowdy is one of the best places I know of to take first-timers. Usually lots of fish caught, and the access is easy. Ice should be plenty thick and stable. You just need to be ready for wind, or check the forecast for Red Feather Lakes, Co on one of the weather sites, and pick a day when the winds will be lower than other days...
