I cant justify spending the kind of money that swimbaits cost. But they usually do pretty well anywhere you use them if you use them where that species is forage.
hey eric
sorry got new number will call you soon though
better have some big fish to use swim baits. ive even seen them used in tandems to mimick schools of fish, hard to find places in colorado that i think they would do well. especially from shore.
talk to ya soon bud

no way, my fishing buddy is back. what's up G? Where you been? You better call me ASAP with your new number, I have a present for you also when I went to Houston.
I purchased 6" vivid trout swim baits this year. I hope a big anything will slam it. Worth a try. I have a buddy in Greers Ferry Ark that uses 2lb live trout for jumbo wipers in that lake.
I bought some off the clearance rack a couple of years back. They do look very realistic. (kinda an "oooooh shiny" purchase) I have never caught anything with them. I need to try a lake or pond known for larger fish I think.
I too fell in love with the real look and feel of the Castaic Shad lure.
Trolled it for miles, and finaly was blessed with a bite from a small, tiny walleye at Neo Grande one year.
I'm with Dan on this one; looks reel nice in my tacklebox but it never sees water time anymore. Note to self: ensure you use this lure next time you have to fish snag infested waters, and are sure you are going to loose the next lure you run through it.
Which brings the e-chip to mind; does it really work?
Maybe they might work better in a place known for Pike or Tigers?
Dan
