Fished Tarryall for about 4 hours this morning. Ice was about 5" thick, although there are some areas of open water in the middle. Caught a bunch of stocker rainbows (11"-13"). Not big, but lots of of them and lots of fun. Fished in 9-13' of water with various small jigs (marabou, tube jigs, ratsos, shrimpos, etc.) tipped with waxworms. Everything I used worked about equally well. Great fun. The weather turned miserable about 10:00 with wind, corn snow, and white out conditions and that seemed to really turn the fish on.

This would be an ideal place to take a newbie icefisherman to get them into a lot of fish.

Well thought I would say HEY to you all! Since I finally have something worth posting, might as well put in my 2 cents worth. Was out at Tarryall on Sat. as well!!! Took a buddy with & got him on the ice for the second time. Had a blast, once the front came in for about 3.5-4 hrs. we were catching stockers non stop. Practically every drop we were hooking up. The highlight were the three browns we pulled in [email protected]", [email protected]", and a couple decent bo'[email protected]". most of the others were 10"-13". After fishing it this summer a couple of times I was surpised to see any fish in there above 12".Most were caught in 15-18 ft. of water using ratfiky and 1"tube jig either tipped with a mealy or salmon eggs, or a combo of both.
