No no no. It used to be open camping but not anymore. They quit that so the vegetation would restore. I don't know if you mean about the primitive camping though, which is quite a ways from the water. (its actually maybe 1/2 mile away or so.) There are camp sites now. I was just there about half a month ago. There are maybe about 30 spots in the campground I was at (near where the taylor river dumps in). Nothing is that close to the water but close enough. They filled up fast too. The camp spots kinda sucked and you had to pay 12 bucks to camp which was a ripoff. There are cabins but you should make reservations.

Yeah you are right about the primitive camping. It definitely is more quiet, the only drawback is you are fairly far from the reservoir.
