me and my brother decided to make the drive to taylor, we got to the lake at about 10 and we caught afew rainbows on my slip bobber, then we fished for what we came for kokanee, we caught 18 and we only kept one, we caught all our spawners on orange kastmasters and orange krocidiles, we saw the kokes chasing our spoons , i caught one that was 21 inches with a very impressive hump back

You definately are the Kokaneeking! Where we you located? What size line do you need for those monsters?

i fished off the rocks at the dam, i use 10 pound test for my spinning rod when im jigging spoons, for snagging i use 12 pound, but i dident have to snag because they were hitting my spoon like no other

How heavy of line do you normally use for snagging? I've heard 20lb test is good.

all i use is 12 pound, there is no need to use 20 pound test , 12 pound stren is what i use , its strong , i never even use my drag, i just drag um in

Where on Carter do you snag? When do they usually go? What is the cost for one car there anymore?

I think it is $8 or at least $7...and add that amount again if you want to put your boat...and to think the state stocks the lakes there...that isnt right!...

carter is like 6 bucks, i snag off dam 1 that is one place i know, i know they are stocked at the south boat ramp, along time ago we saw people snagging there , last year there was a decent spawn , but it is real hard to snag off the dam there is lots of rocks, i sight fish for um in the rocks and i found acouple last year, they usually are in full force on the second week november

That Koke has a huge hump... I love the conditions you were fishing in, were there alot of people out there with you?

at first there was afew people then they left and me and my brother had the kokes to ourselfs , the conditions were awesome snow clear sun then snow again it was fun

The 2nd kokanee is one fat salmon, I love his hooked jaw too.

thanks epic, yes the 2nd one is very fat , i only kept him because hes going on my wall , it measured out at 21 inches, it will run me around 180 to mount that sucker
