Anglers Invited to Meet DOW Staff
Public Meetings Planned in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) will host public forums in Colorado Springs and Pueblo to discuss the fishing outlook for the 2005 season.
DOW fisheries biologists will give a preview on the best bets for warmwater and trout fishing in Southeast Colorado and South Park.
They will also provide information on fish populations in regional lakes and streams, stocking plans, reservoir water levels and stream flows, whirling disease, status of greenback cutthroat trout, high lake fishing, and the current license fee bill before the Colorado Legislature.
?Anglers are asked to come eager to talk about fishing in the Arkansas and Upper South Platte basins, and bring their questions, ideas and suggestions,? encouraged Doug Krieger, Senior Fish Biologist for the Southeast Region. ?We will have a great opportunity to share some information and ideas.?
The DOW staff will also discuss draft fishing regulations for the 2006-2010 period that will be presented to the Colorado Wildlife Commission at their July meeting. Subjects will include ? but are not limited to ? size and bag limits, stocking schedules, fishing regulations and other items of concern to anglers. Angler comments and suggestions are welcome.
The Colorado Springs meeting is at the DOW Office, 4255 Sinton Road, at 7 p.m. on April 20. The Pueblo meeting is at the DOW Hunter Safety Building on 2600 W. Mesa at 7 p.m. on May 4.
