Went to Mac with my daughter last weekend. We caught a couple of limits, this was a 30", 10-8# eye that I couldn't get revived to release her. Sad :-[. Thursday morning a microburst or tornado broke a healthy tree and landed on my boat. It broke my horn, starboard windshield and motor cover plus added a couple of more dents. So far a new windshield is $925.00. Ouch! It could have landed on our cabin where we were sleeping 5 feet away.

Lame... not sure if the frame is bent too bad, but I had my windshield repaired (glass only) for about $300 if I remember correctly...

Did you ask the owner of the cabin you rented if their insured? There home owners insurance should cover that. Good luck.
It is an act of God. HO will not cover that, unless the Home Owner was warned of the condition (in writing) of his tree and did nothing about it and said condition was proven, not just accused.

SUX about the boat dude! Mother Nature can be a fickle biotch...why she took out the boat when she could have just landed the tree on that Ford is a mystery!!! ::) >:D:biggrin1:

The tree probably bounced off the Ford without even a scratch or dent. Probably would have totaled a GM or Dodge.

It's my cabin and I am covered under insurance. Supposedly the windshield is unique with the curves in it. It is made by Taylor but I can only buy it from Lund. Looks like the motor cowling will be expensive too.
