I fished a lake once above echo lake going towards Mt. Evans...I think it was called Summit Lake...did not ge a bite...and did not see any risers so I do not know what if any fish are in there...... Does anyone know?

I think there was a post about that lake a couple of months ago. If I recall properly it is too high, too shallow and freezes nearly solid every winter, attempts to stock have been very unsuccessful.

I can back Dan up on that. There's not any fish in Summit, It's an ice rink almost to the bottom in the winter. However, if you're up there and want some great action right now, the Chicago Lakes are fishing pretty well with caddis. I caught several in the 14-16 in range as did my buddy with spinners (as im mepps). Beautiful hike, great exercise and IMO the fishing's worth it. Try the head of the lower lake and pretty much anywhere with some depth in the upper, it doesn't seem like the upper lake gets any pressure. ANd by that I mean none, zilch, nada.
