Any tips/suggestions for my first time to ice Jefferson?

And I'm assuming its 6 miles R/T or so on foot?

Thanks in advance!

it'd be a fine adventure for sure. Prolly need snowshoes in areas. thick ice your auger needs to be sharp. Bring lots of warm clothes.

8.6 miles from gate to ramp. It will seem less adventurous when someone blows by you on their sled LOL

Did in once in the fall
My poor wife even went. First 3 miles isn't too bad the last mile sucks. Trip back sucks after fishing all day
Not worth it but good luck

I've done the fall and winter walk. Winter walk really sux. Vex,hand auger, two rods, jig box=heavy
Fishing blew worse than the wind that day.

I like adventures too but Jefferson wouldn't be my first winter hike choice. You may get a lift up by a passer-by if they have the right sled. Or not

It wasn't even worth it with the sleds... :p Just based on a very small sample size: one trip. :biggrin1:
