Hey guys,

I'm not much for making post, but do enjoy everybody's post. It makes a work day a little more exciting.

Plan on heading to Trinidad and Horseshoe lake this weekend. Has anybody fished these lakes lately, if so any tips on where to catch some fish?

Hopefully I will be able to post those nice pics like everybody else!!!!!!

Thanks in advance,

Here is the number of Trinadad State Park: (719) 846-6951
The state park site doesnt say there is any ice down there, but who knows about their updates. I think there should be plenty of open water down that way, even if there is some cold weather moving in.

they close horseshoe to boating for a period each year, don't remember the dates but you better check if you are going to take a boat.

Martin is open to boats if Horseshoe is closed.
Would be a good time to check it out before the jet skiers get back.

The inlet area on Martin almost never has ice because the water is coming from the dam at Horseshoe just 100 yds away. I have always done well here in the winter on trout with a Rapala floater or jerkbait. Haven't been down there in the winter in a couple of years.
