Fished today from 2-6 PM. Winds steady from E/NE 10-15 mph. Water temp was 39.5 in main lake and up to 41.6 in shallower areas. Several shore anglers today, only a few boats. Water elevation is 6190 per Ranger JJ. Also per JJ there was a stocking of smaller rainbows and most folks on shore doing well for trout. Lake has only been open to boats for a few days and no reports on walleye. Be careful boating as there are some barely covered hazards in areas you may think are deeper. I marked a few fish in areas I know hold walleye but no takers.

Lake open to boating as of 03.10.17. Be careful as there are many unmarked hazards and areas that you may think are deeper have hazards just outside of waters that are 15-30' deep.

*** Official report from Trinidad Lake Ranger JJ ***
The lake is at 802 surface acres with a surface elevation of 6190.62. Fishing from shore has been good with 16-20in trout being caught around the lake using worms and powerbait. Boaters have just started but worm harnesses and jigs have worked well.
****Boating is open, boat inspection hours are 8am-4pm ****
Every boat must be inspected unless it is sealed with a Trinidad seal and receipt.
