Last night was the Cheyenne Mountain TU auction... It was a fairly decent auction with a few snafu's, the first being a big one the auction committee put "value's" on all the items that were up for bid so almost nothing went for more then its value then to top it off some values were different from the sheet they handed out everyone to what the sheet with the item said. It kind of pissed the auctioneer off, lol. But the auctioneer was the best they've had since I've been going to them, he did manage to keep bumping the prices even when they seemed to be stalled out.
Anyways the box we donated as a site brought $195 dollars so I think that did pretty well, since it was valued at $266 on the auction table and $126 on the sheet they handed out to everyone.

The box I donated went for $80 on the silent auction.

Thanks a ton guys, the Colorado Springs chapter of TU does a ton of stream restoration and trail work on the Ark, South Platte, Bear Creek, and Fountain Creek to aid in some great fishing opportunities. All the auction money goes into those types of projects.

How many flies made it into the box from CF?
133, which is really awesome as I was starting to worry I wouldnt have enough for a decent box.

Good stuff Rick....

Can you believe they would not deliver that hook package in a regular envelope? I talked to my mail man and he said that they can do it if they chose to???

I've never had an issue in any of the swaps I've done... the ones I host I get them in all kinds of containers in a regular envelope. But glad they got here.

Neither have I... that is why I asked my mailman... Because I had sent nearly every swap in with that exact container in a regular envelope. I was so pissed when it came back with that message stamped on it. Then to hear it is really a subjective thing? Anyhow, glad they got there.

Come to think of it, I think I sent the same thing to Jamie for the latest swap and I have not gotten my flies!!! Damn... I see a trend.

I have exchanged flies with some fellow anglers and some of them were never delivered. Flies mailed in a continer and in a larger padded envelope always come through, but the ones mailed in a regular envelop seem to get lost on occasion. I guess we need to use a mailer that cost much more to send than an envelop to get the flies to their destination. Any one have similar experiences?
