DENVER -- The Division of Wildlife will host three free seminars in March and early April about hunting wild turkey in Colorado as a part of Hunter Outreach Program efforts to educate and engage new and experienced hunters in the sport.

Turkey Hunting 101

These seminars will cover the fundamentals of turkey behavior, turkey habitats, hunting tactics and techniques, as well as provide a good beginning for the novice turkey hunter. Registration is limited due to seating capacity. Turkey hunting is the fastest growing type of hunting in the United States. These classes will be educational and exciting and are expected to fill quickly. Reservations are required to attend.

WHO: Anyone interested in learning about turkey hunting
WHEN: Tuesday March 15 or Monday April 4, 6:30 to 9:30 pm

Turkey Hunting 201

Already an experienced turkey hunter? Interested in taking your skills knowledge up a notch? Join us for an advanced Turkey Hunting seminar given by Keith Prince of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Prince is an experienced turkey hunter and will move his discussion beyond the basics to talk about: safety in the field, shotgun patterning techniques, scouting for turkeys and much more. Seating capacity is limited to 150. Reservations are required to attend.

DIRECTIONS: From I-25, take the 58th Avenue exit and go west. Turn right at the first light onto Broadway. Follow Broadway over the railroad tracks and turn right into the 2nd entrance to the DOW campus. The Hunter Education Building is located at the far northeastern part of the campus.
