You never know what you might catch at Union.  Last August, my boy thought he hooked into a catfish, the line was tight and went this way and that, the rod shook and shimmied like a fish shaking his head.

Got it to the surface and this is what he had!

Oh damn, when I first took my boat out this year in late March/early April(?) I caught a Gundam action figure in front of that rock pile that you can't fish on. Yeah, that one zipped from side to side too. That action figure had wings on it so that was why, I bet. About 8 inches and weighed approx. 2/3 lb. LOL!!

Dan,

You can tell you're honest, cause that's not a BLOW UP FISH. I'm looking in my encyclopedia right now to identify it. Looks like its a fish they call................
"Objet' d' Art" er sumpthin!

Try gettin info from this site: http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/parks/park_list/overview/union.htm

Any tips on structure on Union. Areas to fish for wiper and walleye? I am going out there on Thursday.
That lake is practically structure-less. Hone in on temperature and where the baitfish are and you're in.

Lol. What kind of bait did u use to catch that one? That could be a record.
Psssstt....any idea what the water temp was?
It was caught while drifting a crawler along the bottom, and The water was about 70 degrees if I recall. It was caught fairly shallow (maybe 8 feet deep) between the baot ramp and the swim, beach.

It was the only one we caught, we kept it, tasted like rusty steel and plastic.
