Does anybody know the status of Nichols Reservoir next to Rampart Reservoir? It was always a favorite of mine with a nice hike, beautiful scenery and peaceful fishing. Thanks.

Not a lot of info on Nichols here but it does cover a lot of the rest of the fisheries in the area. The C springs utilities site says Nichols is closed until further notice, but CPW does not mention it. I want to head up there too before Ice up. I have not fished it or Rampart yet. Anyone know when the lakers usually start coming out of the depths of Rampart? or if Nichols is open? I hear that they both have lakers and I have not gotten one on the fly yet. Would like to check that off before winter.

i might be wrong but i think it is still closed from the fire. moch of the burn aera will be closed for a long time
