When fishing for lake trout and Kokes how far behind the cannonball do you run the lures?

Is it different depending on what you are trolling?

For example would your run a spoon further back than a kwikfish? Would you run a cowbell closer than a wedding ring?

Also, how much leader between the spoon or wedding ring and the cowbell or flasher/dodger?

Thanks

I usually have the lure 10-30 feet behind the ball. Deeper water usually shorter, shallower (<100 feet) farther back to get it away from the boat. I like to put a 5' long slider on the line to get a second bait down there. I generally use 14-18 inches behind cowbells, and 1 and 1/2 times the dodger length with dodgers. I will be curious to hear what everyone else does.

No experience on the downrigger -- I bought my first one a week ago. But as far as the cowbells and dodgers go, I like to run my wedding ring about 3' - 4' behind the hardware and don't forget the rubber snubber on the kokes
