I fished Vallecito from my kayak on the 24th. Nothing on my down rigger. Nothing on cranks or stick baits Caught three Trout and had many hits from little stockers. I'd pack a easy to cast light spinning rig and toss spoons. They will hit on the drop.
Largest 17" caught popping a tube jig. I was looking for Walleye without any luck. Talked to a couple of boaters who landed one Walleye on a bottom bouncer worm. Water level is nice and high. I had a nice time.
If you have a little time and check out Night Horse outside of Durango. Lots of small Trout and some kokanee to jig up. Read up on the rules before you go. College students and paddle boards.
