Middle of October can be prime time for browns and the bows will follow them looking for an easy meal of eggs. The flow level is key to good fishing, stable flows are what to look for.
That is what I told him as well, make sure we go up there in October the fishing is sick especially in November.

Great job. The Mile can be tough at times, the fish there see a lot of flies, but as you found out, once you get it figured out it is a great place to fish. Headed there for a week on Sunday. I'll let you know how it goes, although I don't have the equipment or the patience to take videos or even pictures. Thanks for posting.

Hey how did it go? Hope you did well.

Nice job with the video Dan and figuring them out! I can't wait to get out there with you in late september.

Just got back from six days on Grey Reef and the Mile. Had a great trip. Caught a 24” brown and a bunch of 20+ rainbows. And lost quite a few big powerful fish. I was using 3X tippet and still had 3-4 break off. Crazy fast fish up there.

Awesome video, I used it for reference when working up there last week. Was able to get a little time on the Mile and Fremont Canyon. The fish up there definitely gave me a run for my money. What an excellent fishery.

First time wanting to try the Miracle Mile and other local hot spots. Any suggestions on a guide for a day or so to help figure it out. Also thoughts on were to stay have an RV but think motel or lodge would be easier. Looking at October for a wade trip if that’s the best way to go. Thanks in advance for the help. The doors open for anyone wanting to fish Elephant Butte here in NM.
