I'm interested in getting a bird dog this summer. I'm not looking to hunt it - I raised a GSP back in college and absolutely loved the dog. Smart as a whip, full of energy, and shared a similar love for the outdoors with myself. I'm looking for a similar dog, not necessarily a GSP, but I wouldn't mind getting another one. Trying to avoid puppy mills as well. Anyone have any recommendations on breeders in CO for those breeds listed above?

Thanks!

I saw this guys dogs when I was a Rocky Mountain NAVHDA member and his dogs were very memorable, they were much more laid back than typical GSP's and absolutely confident and purposeful in the field. I'm not a big GSP fan anymore but if I were to get one, this guy's dogs would be at the top of my list.

This guy should be able to hook you up with the best private Pheasant land in Co(Holyoke);

This guy has a very good national reputation as a trainer, if you might be considering a setter.

If you dont need a hunter, try GSP rescue. http://www.rockymtngsp.org/
Don't discount rescue just because you want a hunter. Often times you will find hunting dogs within the rescue. I know the local Weimaraner rescue just adopted out a dog with hunt training.

Rescue is a fantastic program. We rescued a Weim 5 years ago and she turned out to be a great dog (took her hunting this year). Just yesterday picked up another pup from the rescue. Very rewarding.
