Road my bike into Waterton today.Didn't fish till I hit 4 mile marker.Had a good morning 9:30 to 12:30.Caught about a dozen 8" to 12"rainbow,cutbow & browns. All on a Stimulator-orange body yellow thorax in #12 & #16.Good caddis hatch after lunch but fish weren't too interested only got another 6 on stimulator.Quit at 2:30.Almost too tired to ride out.I did see a guy using San Juan Worms & a RS2 doing o.k. in afternoon.

Sounds like a good day. I was at Waterton as well. Walked down to the lower section instead of hiking up. Saw a few risers, and scatterd caddis coming off the water, but no action. Actually compared to mine, yours sounds like a great day.

I found out years ago that fishing is very sparodic below the water diversion. The flies & lures only section always produces best for me.Seems like fewer people, more & larger fish.Faster water in warmer weather produces more oxygen so, more active fish.Try biking up further it's worth the effort.
