The tradition will never die.
Got there at 5:45, was third car in the parking lot. Bundled up in bright blue palm tree board shorts and a v neck tee, and sandals... Hiked over a snowbank to my spot and cast out. Caught a 18 inch laker first cast. Walked around the corner to my rock. Caught my limit quickly of eater dinkies for momma, and threw big **** at the spawn of jorgamundrs that were cruising and chasing the survivors of the long winter. Had many follows but no commitments. After 4 hours decided to get fudge and an overpriced breakfast sandwich... And drove home. Lake is 90% open, with lots of ice floes, and filling. Used tubes/dead goldfish to catch my dinkers and threw big jerkbaits for the gordos that I saw lots of. Made me feel good to see them... Because some of em were feckin' huge, kid. Perhaps someone who is at a higher level of skill will fare better.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Want pictures? Nobody wants to see eater lakers... So take my word for it. Get you some before the window closes and they stock the lake.
