I went up to Spinney three weeks ago and passed someone coming out of the Chaparral Park General Store just west of the Spinney entrance and he stated he was using a rapala and a gizit? I know what a rapala is but what is a Gizit? And how do you fish for trout with it or other species?
Thanks

A gitzit is a tube jig or a fish shaped bait with tube tails (just a fancy shape of tube jig). I used the latter for a walleye for the first time a couple weeks ago when it was storming and got a fat 17 incher on my first cast. I just cast it out and worked it like a tube jig along the bottom with some hops and pauses.

Ok Thanks. Tube jig is plastig jig = gizit with tails? Ok
The Way I am understanding to fish this lure is let it sink to the bottom and start to retreive for about 2 feet then let it sink again. Do this technique till it reaches the shore? Can any one let me know if I am on the right track on this? I really want to learn this technique.
