Well, I thought I did identified them until came home and my friend told me he doubt they are lake trout. It's not like I don't know and I kept it, it was based on my best judgement at that time.

That's why I'm here to ask and to learn more about what kind fish is that.

Seems you guys are more interested in criticizing me than actually tell me what kind fish are they.

How about like someone upstairs said they are actually lake trout, then I'm doing fine. I want to learn to avoid making mistake, if this is a mistake today.

So... If you would have be in possession of the fish illegally, because you didn't know what it was, ignorance would have been your defense to the game warden?

They're riding your ass because you're not seeing this as an issue.

Would you shoot an animal if you didn't know if it was a Moose or an Elk?

You're probably going to say no and say that Elk/Moose is a bigger deal than this because it's "just a fish."

Well, when you get a ticket for being irresponsible, remember that it's "just a fish."

And a fine... ::)

First of all, I said sorry and I said I would pay more attention.

Second of all, it's not "I don't know", I know they were lake trout, as someone said here they were lake trout also. I'm here to confirm. I see this could potentially be issue and that's why I'm here to ask and to learn. If I were caught and I need to pay a fine I would pay because I made a mistake base on my best judgement.

Don't say anything like this before you can actually identify and tell they are NOT lake trout. Well, at least you guys can give your answer before you went ahead and criticize.

At least he is willing to learn.. Don't drive him to the exploiter where he will learn the magic of fishing catch and release areas with worms and powerbait.... http://www.eatliver.com/the-daily-struggle/

I agree. We all make mistakes. I respect the fact that he's trying to educate himself and prevent this question in the future.

If you aren't sure what it is, use the CAMERA you own to take a pic of the live one, release it, and then post the pics later to ask for ID-you know, the same camera you used to take pics of the dead ones...Then, when your judgement concludes what the species is and legality of killing it, go back and catch more!
