Good for you Alaska Kid! Boy, would thart be great to get to go up every year while you're growing up. Where do you fish when you're there?

As for walleyes around here, they're heating up. Chatfield has been the local hotspot so far.

You know he is comparing apples to oranges.  Based on the fact that we live in a state in which much of it climatologists refer to as an "Alpine Desert" (that is based on annual rainfall and elevation)  I don't think we do so bad.

Now if we lived in Michigan where they have hundreds of natural lakes, rivers that have more than 6 inches of water in them in August, 20-30 inches of rainfall annually and 3 or 4 of the Great Lakes bordering them.  Then yeah I would probably not think too highly of Colorado fishing.

But he will never fish a high stream for cutthroats in Michigan, now will he?

hmmmm, apples and oranges.

Going back to the guy who said that Colorado doesn't have good fishing I'd have to agree for the most part.

Look at places like:

MN, MI, OH, TX, FL, WS, OR, CA, I can go on and on. On the flip side im sure there are places that don't fair as well as us. But.......I am willing to bet there are more places BETTER than WORSE than us,

IMO

People from other states laugh at me when I tell 'em I regularly drive 2 or 3 hrs one way to go fishing!I was talking to a guy from minnesota that said he has 10 lakes to fish within 15 minutes of home. There is a lot of diversity here though.

Colorado has AWESOME trout fishing if you arent a trout fisher and have lived in any number of different states then you'd probably be like fishing Colorado sucks. I was when I first moved here, but now I just like to fish it isnt about quanity or quality its about the hunt or the fish.
Oh and SLAYERFISH they dont call Minnesota the land of 1000 lakes for nothing. Really Colorado has too cold of water and no HUGE reserviors like alot of states. Also if all they are going to do is fish metro reserviors then the fishing is going to suck, be to crowded, and mostly only catch stockers.
As for walleyes I havent targeted them yet, mostly cause no lakes in the Springs have them, and I dont have a boat so I will have to wait for them to come in shallow which they are starting to do with the warmer tempatures. But its Snowing outside here winter just wont let go!!

snowing what where why how come
what - white stuff falling from the sky and all over the ground
where - Colorado Springs
why - water molecules in the clouds crystalize and collect until they are to heavy and fall to earth
how come - because snow is heavier then air so it falls, and mother nature hates me and doesnt want me to go fishing yet.
