So quiet around here... Even Slayer isn't posting his once or twice a week Homeric feats on Barr... Or Anterio... And what about hobiecat? Everyone must be too busy catching... And trying not to get their hot spots invaded by barbaric hordes.

Anyhoo, Pistoldog's post has me thinking about zebras. I would never have thought of wipers are zebras because the stripes are in the wrong dimension, but the term stuck in my mind. I think I am going to skip Barr, and the other Barr, and the other, other Barr, and see if I can get some wiper action this week. Somewhere east.

I've been doing a lot more fishing than catching lately. It at least is in part due to my new favorite thing to do, mapping lakes with my new Helix.

I'll probably try and chase some lakers or Kokes this weekend.

I had planned to do some mapping this year. But every time I get on the water, my mind just focuses on fishing. Fiddling with electronics ain't my thing. Yes, yes, I would be a much better fisherman once I figured out the electronics...

Been fishing some different stuff in the SW foothills. Going North tomorrow for a few days.
Going back to your roots with real pink meat, heh? I guess pink walleye didn't quite hit the spot like a good slimer fillet?

No one else posts anymore, why should I?
Blasphemy! What happened to: the only way I'll stop posting is if I'm in dead or in jail? Guess we'll just have to hope for some unsuspecting new forum members. That's a very rare breed these days.

^^^^^^^^^^ This ;)
I don't do much fishing near metropolitan areas during the fair weather months, so I don't get as much angst about being over crowded as most folks around here. I did take my family out to Boyd for a boating trip last weekend. I thought it was crowded last year when I took a similar trip there, but it was even more of a zoo this year. Now I understand why whining posts account for a good portion of fishing forum posts... :D

Busy is always a relative term. LOL

Every June 1st Mac doubles in boat traffic and I get testy about waiting in line for a couple of mins, then I take a weekend trip to Pueblo and end up practically tearing my hair out.

Since I don't take pictures, this didn't happen...

The alewife have moved shallow at Mac and the predators have followed.

For sure...

I have a love/hate relationship with Mac. I don't fish the spawn because the crowds are absolutely ridiculous. May/June is not as bad, but I would still rather fish other less crowded lakes. I have not bought a fishing license there since 2016. Gonna give it another try this year.

They don't have to be 18" at any of the Barrs... and you'll catch some fish over 18" too. But I am sure Slayer has already given you the intel on that. There must be a reason why you are sticking to the Crack... ;D I wouldn't say there's no use in pics of 17" walleyes. Why, Slayer manages to make reports on average sized walleye entertaining and, in the process, gets more views than other people posting 10 pounders. It's in the art of the reporting; not the content. :D

I can’t take credit for the Zebra nomenclature, I commandeered the term from Zman, and yes I thought the same thing , vertical not horizontal.

But it stuck and I call them Zebra now lol.

Any I catch these days I consider a welcome bonus.

Haven’t fished specially for them since Union had a good population.

Wed and 1/2 Thurs was calm to almost 20mph. it was 20-30 consistently after that. Keeps the woosies away-;D
Winds were manageable for me Thursday night. It was a different story Friday night. Even the shore herd was thinned out. They had to stand a good 10 ft from the water, and they were still getting splashed. My Mortorguide would not get GPS signal Friday night. It was just a waste of time trying to control my boat without it. I never had lost GPS signal with my Minn Kota. I came back home, unplugged it, plugged it again, and it got GPS signal again. Should have tried the good old cure all remedy when I was on the water: reboot.

Fishing was OK Thursday night. Friday only yielded a smallie, which don't count. I came back home Saturday morning. A friend who stayed behind did not do good Saturday evening, and he knows the lake a lot better than me, so I didn't miss anything. I only caught 1 zebra. Walleye fishing was better. Biggest 2 were about 9 lbs each. Sorry about the blurry pictures. Kinda hard to hold the camera steady when the boat is rocking...
