Ive only seen a couple of fish with whirling disease, and it was about 8 years ago. they were in the stretch of the S Platte between Spinney and 11 mile. both were seperate, but had severe bends in thier spine, and you could tell they were not normal. i hear whirling disease fish also can get so "bent" they swim in circles (hence the name "whirling disease") but i did not witness this behavior...the fish didnt spook, and just kind of hung out near the bank until i walked away. i have seen pictures of whirling disease fish on the internet, do a search sometime if you are curious. i came up with page of photos of various fish conditions, most of which i have never seen before....

and hopefully i never do see, i might add....
