Why a drop shot hook

I know they make hooks specifically for drop shoting. I don't drop shot much and I always just use a #1 or 1/0 EWG hook. Is that OK. Could somebody explain to me any advantages to going with a drop shot hook?

The theory behind a drop shot hook is that the eye is turned up so that the bait is presented more naturally and offering a better hook up. If you are not losing fish from a hook set, then the only change might be the way the bait is presented underneath the water.

Use a Palomar Knot and almost any hook will work. The palomar knot keeps the hook straight out from the line. Good Luck
I have seen pros use regular offset worm hooks. Marketing marketing marketing
