Started by fishing willow creek with the kids. Weather was beautiful. Caught 27 fish. The fish were rainbows and cutbows. One of my sons friends never iced before blazed the trail with nine fish. The temperature was in the mid twenties. We fished on the south side. Anything pink was the ticket. The ice is 14" thick. The rest of the days were about the same. Had one bow break my hook in half after an eight minute fight. When I left yesterday granby was almost completely froze over. I would say three days til fishable.
Fish on!

Sounds like a great trip. Good to hear when newbies really get on the fish. He will probably be an ice fishing addict for the rest of his life now. Good Job!

I bet the drive home was a lot of fun! Sounds like a lot of fun with the kids. Any size to the numbers, other than the hook breaker, or were they all recent stockers?

We left around eight and there was a strip of open water from Stillwater across to elephant and that was about it.
