Thought it was a white bass, but it fought like a wiper. I got a few in the 14-16 inch size that put up a good tug.

Yessir... whitey's put up a good tussle! ... that, in addition to the power of a striper, are what makes wipers the tanks that they are!

Pound for pound, there isn't much of a difference between a white bass and a wiper. Wipers tend to run a little more but that's it.

I've found the best indicator of white vs wiper is, on the lateral line of a white, it continues into the tail. Wipers end before the tail, more in the meaty section.

Chunky prego white!
