Xi5 questions
What is the trick to getting out of anchor mode with the foot pedal? Tap anchor once to get into anchor... but how do you get out? I tried tapping anchor once, double-tapping anchor, tapping prop constant... nothing gave me consistent results of getting out of spot lock, and sometimes it just sent me into a drift with no control at all.
Also, is there a trick to syncing the handheld remote other than holding the left and right buttons when powering up the TM? Anybody have any issues with that?

You might try customer support...I read some threads on problems before I set mine up...it seems some buyers needed software up grades...I think just calling them would be your quickest way to get this all resolved...

Hmm- My Minnkota seems to work perfectly-
I did call them after I posted this thread. Motorguide suggested that I return the unit to the seller...
I was just talking to the wife about upgrading my MK Terrova to a MG X-I5. But have been reading reviews on the new improved MK spotlock and it seems to be as good if not better than the X-I5.
who'd you buy it from?...if thats what they suggested sounds like a defective one...I do remember reading something about syncing them...but i couldnt find it this morning...I didnt find anything on anchor lock...mine is a 12 volt and when it starts acting weird I switch batteries and back to normal...
And Slayer I was a die hard Minnkota dude but I saw from other boats i was in how the xi5 put my Terrova to shame on spot lock and responsiveness...the only thing better was and is Minnkotas remote since I dont use the foot petal...plus I could hook it up to my lowrance point at the screen and say go there...that was the final straw...total hands free when working a shoreline...

I bought it online from Universal Mania. It had a third problem in addition to the two I stated. It arrived with damaged cradle arms that spring up and hold the prop unit in place. MG rep said that I could mail it to them for service or return it... I've gotten cold feet with this unit. Would rather just get my money back and start over. I'm considering the terrova again now.

Id love to ride on a boat that has the best MG to compare. I have a fairly newish terrova ipilot and I def love it.
I have had the new terrova for a couple months and it is awesome.Glad I waited I almost bought the Xi5 after a lot of research I chose to stay with MKota

It's not a GPS puck it's called a heading censor(basically a compass)easy to install

I honestly can't run from this Xi5 fast enough. They have me begging to shell out more money for the bluetooth terrova.
The NEW spotlock is supposed to be the bomb-
It is awesome and the basic remote is better.Lots more features.
