May be wrong ( I was once many years ago ) but as I understand it you guys have had Silver Carp up there for quite a few years.

Flyfishos down here are enraged that the Minister of Conservation of all people, without any consultation or prior notice has approved a commercial silver carp farming operation ,adjacent to the pristine prime central Nth Is fishing streams, rivers, lakes etc.

We are told elsewhere these things have proven to be a real pest & authorities are spending millions in futile attempts to eradicate them.

Would appreciate any opinions you guys may have given your experience in dealing with them ie are they likely to be a problem or not, conversely not worth the risk in any event.

They are a not just a problem but a HUGE PROBLEM. When they reach the Great Lakes (if they haven't already)and decimate the aquatic biota, only then will something be done. Then the problem will be 'what can be done?'. Here's where your fishing, tourism, and any other industry that will lose big time when they "escape", because they will, should join forces and get this specie blocked for farming. There can't be any shortage of information concerning the detrimental impact silver carp have had, and continue to have, on U.S. waters. Good luck!
