That freaking thing rocks!! It beat my Strikemaster with brand new lazer blades, like I was standing still.
I made the offer today to Jeff,.. to trade my shanty, Strikemaster, pontoon, trolling motor, and Marcum,...for his pontoon, Icegater, shanty, and Vexilar straight up.

www.icegator.com I have the attacker II -- it's $389, comes with adaptor, batteries, charger. Then you have to pick a shaft. They recommend either a nils hand auger shaft (around $89) or a strikemaster lazer shaft (about the same). So, it's about a $500 auger, but you get a hand auger out of the deal as well that you can use late or early season.

If you are thinking of getting one, order early and be prepared to wait. As mentioned, this is the only problem with the Gator--they are hard to get! They are also apparently releasing a new auger this fall that is going to be half the weight--some new battery advancement. I like it heavy because you don't have to push it--you push the button and the weight of the power head is perfect weight for drilling.

I got mine from Bernie not sure who makes it but it has a 36volt bosch drill and very light drill super sweet drill and nice not mixing or needing gas.

But will have to wait till enough people buy them that people start selling them used LOL

 

If you are going to wait for a used one you will probably never get one because I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with it and want to sell it. Only financial hardship (or something similar) would be why somebody would sell one.

I love mine. There are so many different reasons why these are better than any gas auger. My auger shaft is a NorMark fin bore III. Another Swedish double offset auger. It is sweet in itself and recommend it to anyone needing a hand auger. Fish 307 has them. Can't seem to find them anywhere else. I would definitely order one right now, seriously, if you want one. Takes forever for it to show up. Especially if it is ice season...

 

I REALLY LOVE MINE..... Cuts great quick fast clean holes..... no GAS mess, almost as light as a gas auger.... SUPER UNIT! I kinda wish the ice season lasted a little longer since I purchased mine..... nah, I like open water better!
