I just got a Outcast Fish Cat 9 and I'm trying to figure out what the best way to mount a wheel on it to roll it down to the water. Has anyone else done this before?

What other mods have you done to your pontoon boat?

Cajun,
I'm currently modifying my 8.5 ft water skeeter so my 5 yr old boy can ride with me (platform with 2nd seat). Other than that, i'm trying to get rod holders out of PVC.
You may want to take a look at the following site. These guys have done some pretty cool stuff and a # of different ways to mount wheels.

waterskeeter makes a wheel you might be able to mount to your boat.
they work well up to the point when you are tring to roll it in the mud
then they tend to sink and get stuck. they sell for like 45.00 I love mine.
not to give a plug but I got mine at discount fishing. I am sure you can find one around town.

Cajun I have a fishcat 9 also.

I have a mounted wheel on the bottom to roll down the boatramp. I bought it online. It works perfect! doesnt change center of gravity at all.
I also attached a wirebasket in the back to hold my gear and trolling battery. I use a minkota trolling motor
On the side i have mounted a fishin buddy 4200?? fish finder .
Let me know if you want more pics or specifics

I have been wanting to make a wheel for mine but havent had time to do it. I bought my fishcat 9 last May (after saving a year to get it) and have only used it once!

I like to do hit and run fishing (if I dont catch a fish the first 20 minutes Im at the spot, I leave for another spot)

Plus I just bought a brand new Subaru wagon so Im looking into either a hitch mount basket to put it in or a trailer. Or I might just keep the pontoon at my cabin and buy a float tube for local ponds.

Last year I just threw it in my old Subaru wagon and kept it in there all summer but I cant do that to my new car.

I have a fs9 also.and I carry to much stuff to use one wheel .I have a motor and sealed batteries.and of course all the other stuff including a video camera mount over my shoulder. I tried to make something but your wheel needs to be kind of tall to not drag your toon and tip over .I used a conoe cart and added a board across it .I just slide it under wrap a strap around it and it is so much eaiser than trying to balance it for instance in the spinney sand.and you dont have to take anything off to push cart under tubes and pull it out of the water.and your toon has something to keep it out of the dirt before you pack it up at the parking lot.hope this helped.

UpDate

My project has been delayed for a week or 2. I ordered some special U bolts with a bushing that slides over the tubing then the U bolt goes over the bushing. Anyway, the wrong size came in and the place I was getting them from had to special order. I looked at some pictures, got some ideas, and then came up with my own design. I'll post some pictures when I have it done. It will cost me between $60 - $ 70 in material. The U bolts are $12 a piece. I bought that rubberized coating that Wal Mart sells for truck beds to paint it with.

If you have the money and want a nice wheel, the one that Bzboy got is nice.
